ABOUT MY APPROACH

My style of therapy is influenced by person-centred and emotion-focused therapeutic approaches. Both share humanistic psychotherapy principles in that they emphasize your capacity for self-direction and fulfillment of your potential. I view your emotions as important clues to your wants and needs and, therefore, pay close attention to your immediate emotional experiences as they arise in the session. Depending on your specific concerns, I draw on techniques from other therapeutic modalities such as, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural therapy, internal family systems, and mindfulness practices. Regardless of your issues (or the techniques used), our working relationship is the most essential component for therapy to be successful; therefore, I strive to bring my warmth, genuineness, collaborative presence, respect, and a non-judgmental attitude to every session.

I received my Masters in Counselling Psychology from OISE, University of Toronto. I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and also a member of the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I also attend numerous professional development training workshops.
